Music Projects
There’s something about music that is global in its ability to communicate. No other art has the capacity to make us feel the intensity of joy and the depths of sorrow. It’s our love of music and all its power that we utilize to help expand God’s kingdom in Rwanda.
Our handcrafted miniature pianos, signed by top recording artists, are our way to connect fans to their favorite artists to world missions. Check our auctions page for your opportunity to own one and support Rwanda along the way.
We are also working with Rwandan musicians in the capital of Kigali to record and distribute their music in the U.S. Plans are in development, so check back for updates.
An Abandoned Piano and a Desire to Serve—
The Story of Our Pianos
In 2005 David and Debbie Kobe found a piano sitting on a back road near the desert-edge of Phoenix. Battered but not broken, their find would soon grow into a bridge connecting Christian music to mission in Rwanda.
God began to bring the pieces of GKK together in 2006. David, a talented musician and carpenter, had already used artist-signed instruments to raise money for use in God’s kingdom. As summer began, the Kobes were given VIP access to Christian musicians as they played in Arizona thanks to the Phoenix area KLOVE station.
In October of 2006, God gave the vision of having artists sign the keys from that abandoned piano. After three/fourths of the keys were signed, God gave more vision, and David built the first miniature piano.
When the piano keys ran out, David called a local piano shop, Washburn Pianos, to ask about extra keys. Washburn was about to throw out a couple of pianos, and a new source for keys was found. Not stopping there, God gave David the opportunity to tell the story of God’s Kingdom Keys to Washburn’s Vice President, resulting in unlimited piano keys for God’s Kingdom Keys at no cost.
As God continues to open avenues for God’s Kingdom Keys, we will continue to find ways to join God as he brings more and more of his kingdom to Rwanda. We want to wipe away the tears of Rwandan widows and orphans through Healing Centers, providing for spiritual, emotional, and physical needs. We want to help the musicians of Rwanda sing their songs for the world through recording facilities and music distribution. We want to give the fans of Christian music a way to bless the nation of Rwanda. All of this from a piano someone left on the side of the road.
